New Trailer

So as some of you may (or may not) have heard, Anna and I are in the process of moving to Milledgeville (instead of Florida it would seem). Part of this process is renovating an old (1960s old) 10x50 two bedroom trailer into a 1 bedroom trailer that will eventually have an attached deck that we will turn into a larger living room (for actual entertaining. We'll be 45 minutes from Macon, but we'll also not be paying rent as we'll be on Anna's parents' land.

So I've worked up some preliminary floorplans in Sketchup (free 3-d software from google - they use it to create user buildings for google earth).

The den is 14x10 and so is the bedroom. This is all preliminary right now as I don't have any real measurements, but it's close enough to get a vision of what we're looking for.

Glad you'll be closer than previously expected.

I'm really afraid that if I had one of those, I'd want to make it into an underground bunker. Build a concrete base and walls around it, about a foot of dirt on top, and an access hatch in the roof.

Probably good that I don't have one of those.

So good news and bad news.

Good news, in laws decided that the trailer was too small and kinda ratty, so they were working on another idea. An idea that will cost a bit more up front, but actually get us what we want really. Bad news is that it pushes our move in date later than we think we can recover for Dragon*Con. boo. It also puts us paying rent here longer and moving into the hotter parts of June, not May.

Anyway, the new shell is a 28x14 storage building we're going to make into a cottage. Better is that they are going to add onto it with at least another 28x14 area, giving us 28x28, which is actually pretty big. Threw together some floorplans. The big open room is basically going to be a living room/office area. there may end up being a a few built ins in there, but that's for later.

Bathroom is 5' x 7'. Kitchen floor space is a little less than 6'. The shelves there by the bathroom are for linens (with a cat litter cubby below). Washer and Dryer are by the door. Also right by the door behind the dryer will be the water heater. Bedroom ends up being 12'x12' with a 2'x12' closet/shelf thing.
